You
must all be thinking that it's been a very long time since the last time I
updated the blog pages for you... as you will know, if you have read the last
blog for March 2007,
We opened our new shop ‘Veritas’ in
Cullen during that month,
and to be honest things have been so busy since then that I simply have not had time to update the blog! But this year I promise I shall try to keep it a regular occurrence and update every month if possible through the year.
So what can I tell you? Things have gone well with Veritas, the shop has gradually grown and now we sell all sorts unusual things besides spells, candles, jewellery and of course crystals which was our main aim in opening the shop in the first place.
There seem to be such a lot of floor-space when we first
moved in! But gradually over last year we seem to have filled every corner, and
now the shop is looking interesting and lively and draws a lot of attention from
both locals and people coming further distances to see what we had doing.
There have been some disappointments; the large room that we use for meetings and workshops (which is the Lotus room,) was discovered to be terribly cold during the winter months, and no matter how much heat we put into it… it remains so. North facing with two tiny windows, and an enormously high ceiling makes it impractical to use during winter, so we now have taken the decision to close this room during the winter months and only have it open in the summer. It is simply not comfortable during the winter months!
But the smaller room that opens off the shop ‘the Jasmine room’ is now used for small Reiki workshops and of course for psychic readings from myself and from Amber when she is available, and it is a lovely snug little room leading directly onto the tiny kitchen which is wonderful for tea and coffee and light lunches during workshops!
We have plans of course for this year at Veritas, but as yet they are still being spoken about, and I will tell you more about them as the year goes on.
One of the newest things that I have set in motion this month, is an ‘audio’ page for news, which seems to be proving very popular!
This page (see link) gives a month-to-month news bulletin of what's going on, and what the month is likely to bring generally and astrologically speaking, it also gives a more in-depth tarot-scope for each month if you click on your birth sign.
I aim to develop this facility as the months go on and perhaps add more to it.
For the future we are thinking of doing something very similar utilising video, but that will be later in the year, so keep watching!
We
have also become quite involved in our local Farmers Markets,
and because of this our shop will mostly be closed on Saturdays except for our
local holiday season which is from June to the end of August. At this moment we
are available at three farmers markets: (see links to their pages below)
Huntly on the first Saturday of every month
Inverurie on the second Saturday of every month
Elgin on the third Saturday of every month

Many of the goods that are on sale on this website we carry with us to the markets, but not all, but if you live fairly locally and can come and visit us at one of these markets, please feel free to e-mail us if there is something you are looking for that is on this site, and we can take it with this to the relevant market for you… you will see a link on each of the market pages where you are able to ‘pre-book’ goods and then collect them at one of the farmers markets.

Well nothing much to tell you at this point, except that last year I again became a grandmother and now have another little grandson called Elliot! He is of course absolutely gorgeous just like his brother Archie!
