Melody Brooks, Local Area & Places of Interest

Melody Brooks has everything that you
need close by...from shopping in Elgin, a visit to Cullen, [famous
for its ice-cream] or the village of Findochty; Golf, fishing,
walking, and swimming on the beautiful beaches of Cullen. It is
ideally placed for touring the highlands, or just staying in the
local area. A small peaceful family run site of 27 caravans, most of
which are privately owned. Dolphins Porpoise and Minky Whales are
frequent visitors to the bay and may be seen from the cliff tops and
the harbour. The Whale and Dolphin society is approx 30 mins away at
Speybay, well worth a visit to their shop & cafe. It is also
possible to take a boat trip around the spectacular Moray coast past the famous Bow Fiddle Rock. There is a
lovely walk with magnificent views over Cullen Bay over the
viaduct from Melody Brooks into Cullen, (approx 1and a half miles)
and a choice of cafe's to refresh yourself for your return journey!

Melody Brooks campsite is
situated in a traditional fishing village with a general store with
post office, chip shop and pub. There is a small child's play park
within sight of the site. Bus stop is 5mins from the site with buses
hourly from Inverness to Aberdeen. Portknockie is a proactive
village with many events at the village hall. The surrounding
countryside is breathtaking as are the sea views....The Rockpool
Cafe & Restaurant in Cullen has wonderful food! there is also a fish
and chip cafe a co-op store and a deli that also serves coffee,
cake and snack meals. Cullen boasts two of the most interesting and
unusual 'collectable' and antique shops in the area, a craft
materials shop, and a unique 'pet cemetery' down near the beach!
